There’s only one day to go until the Prime Day office chair deals officially launch – buit I’ve already found some massive discounts on chairs from some of my favorite brands.

Having tested and reviewed the best office chairs with my team, I’m particularly looking out for seats from the likes of FlexiSpot, Branch, and Sihoo. Throughout the four days of Prime Day (Prime Week?) I’ll be focusing on chairs that we’ve reviewed well during testing, as well as cheap office chairs with big discounts you can’t afford to miss.

Save $50 To me, this office chair has all the features you’d be looking for when it comes to a basic office chair – so it includes lumbar support, a mesh back and seat for breathability, and headrest. Add in multiple tilt angles and a hanger for your jacket on the back, and it ticks every box. The variant with a foam seat is also discounted down the $145. View Deal

Save $50 If you’re looking for a professional task chair, the Flexispot OC3B is a great pick. Save $12 For well under a hundred bucks, you don’t get every feature going, but you do get a smart office chair with adjustable seat height and angle, with PU upholstery, padded seat, and a sturdy metal base certified by BIFMA – a nonprofit that creates safe standards for office furniture. Is this chair flashy? No. Is it comfortable and supportive? All day. Another one to watch over Prime Day, as I expect the price to fall further. View Deal

Save $10 Similar to the Amazon Basics office chair, the Sweetcrispy office chair is a padded budget choice. Covering the cushioning is a PU leather, which won’t be suitable for breathability, but it does have padded armrests for a bit more comfort. View Deal

Save $49 The Razer Enki is our top choice office chair for work and play. Designed for gamers, but subtle enough for workspaces, in our 4.5-star review we loved the chair’s solid construction, lumbar support, design, and overall comfort. Not quite as cheap as I saw it during the last Amazon sale yet, so watch this space. View Deal

Save $60 with coupon We found the ProtoArc EC100 offered a pretty good ergonomics and comfort levels in our review of this budget-friendly chair. Not as much adjustability as we’d like, but for the price, the comfort and support was exceptional. View Deal

Save £21 Probably the cheapest office chair you can get right now before Prime Day kicks off for real, this standard mid-back is adjustable, with a curved mesh backrest and foam seat. Save £45 If you really want an early Prime Day deal on an office chair, this is the one I’d buy – it’s from a brand whose chairs have proved reliable during our tests, and it’s at a great price. For the price, the OC3 has some excellent features, including 2D armrests (they move up and down), a 3D headrest, and lumbar support. It tilts and reclines, too, when you need to find the sweet spot. A good pick if you want an office chair under a hundred quid that still has all the key features. Here, you get an ergonomic chair with a mesh backrest, foam cushioned seat, headrest, and 3D armrests. Lumbar support is adjustable. My only issue is the low one-year warranty. But it does come in both white and black, and the exoskeleton-style back support is certainly eye-catching.View Deal

So, what I’ll do here is lay out what I look for when we’re reviewing office chairs, and what else to watch for during the sales. You can read more about this in our full guide.

Brand

You’ll see loads of different companies discounting office chairs on Amazon during the Spring sale, Prime Day, and Black Friday.

The likes of Fezibo, Furmax, Marsail, and the ubiquitous AmazonBasics are your budget ranges.

For budget to mid-range, look to brands like FlexiSpot and Sihoo.

For higher-end, Branch, Herman Miller, and Steelcase are the ones to watch.

I’ve selected brands on this page based on our own experiences with these chairs or other office furniture – and you’ll find reviews where we have them, to see what we really thought.

Mesh or fabric

I’ll keep it simple. Mesh is more breathable, fabric tends to be more padded. A happy medium is a chair with a padded cushioned seat and mesh backrest. Remember, the denser the weave, the more supportive the mesh will be.

Size

We always check out the height limit of a chair and test the maximum weight load wherever possible. It’s important because a chair that’s the wrong size won’t be as comfortable, and you’ll be forever fiddling with the levers.

Here’s a handy ‘rule of thumb’ guide…

> Under 5’3″, lowest seat should be below 17 inches.

> Under 4’11”, lowest seat height should be below 16 inches.

> Up to 6’5″, lowest seat height should be below 19 inches.

> If you’re taller than 6’5″, chair seat height should be 21 inches or above.

Adjustability

Office chairs can come with all sorts of levers and controls designed to make the seat more comfortable, more personalized. When we test office furniture, this is where we spend a lot of time exploring what we can adjust. Tilt and recline are the main areas to look at. Armrests can be 2D (they move up and down), 3D (they also move back and forth) and 4D (they now move outwards).

Lumbar support

Most chairs in the Spring sale will offer some level of lumbar support, which helps maintain comfort and correct posture. Fixed lumbar support won’t move, adjustable lumbar support typically moves forward and back, up and down. Dynamic lumbar support will moves to the contours of your body, offering constant and consistent support. This will generally increase the price of a chair. During review, this is an area we pay special attention to.

Price

When reviewing any chair, we always look at price and value for money – you’ll see it’s a regular complaint of ours about overpriced chairs that don’t always deliver on the expectations of that cost. And we’re always tracking and monitoring office chair deals. During events like Black Friday, Prime, I recommend installing a browser extension like Keepa or using a website like CamelCamelCamel to check if your chosen product is at a historically low price.

Amazon Prime Day 2025 kicks off on July 8th, running until July 11th. The sales will end at midnight in your territory.

Will I need an Amazon Prime subscription to get Prime Day office chair deals?

Yes, you’ll need a Prime subscription to take advantage of any Prime Day deals once the sales officially start.

How do I become an Amazon Prime member?

Unlike with the spring sale, you only need to be an Amazon Prime member in order to get access to Prime Day deals, which costs $14.99 / £8.99 per month or $139 / £95 for a year.

However, new subscribers can take advantage of the 30-day Amazon Prime free trial to buy the deals. You can only use this if you’ve never been a member before, so it won’t be available if you’ve used it already or if you’ve signed up for Amazon Prime in the past.

Which office chairs will be discounted on Prime Day?

We expect decent discounts on most big-brand office chairs, including those from Amazon’s ranges. At the more affordable end of the scale, the discounts will likely be small and you may only spot price drops on particular colors or models. And at the premium end, the desirability of products from companies like Herman Miller means they’ll probably stay at full price throughout this particular sale period.
