The Cozy Furniture Piece Christina Hendricks Just Had to Have in Her Dining Room

Actress Christina Hendricks has been working on redecorating her home, one DIY project at a time. She recently gave her fireplace a facelift using peel-and-stick tiles, and more recently, she finished her dining room, which now has a fun, cozy, and eclectic feel. After “playing it safe” for over a decade, she knew she had to punch it up with fun patterns and textures, and the result is just so fabulous.

“Sit down for a drink while I show you my already fun dining room (I think!) that needed to be pushed to a more exciting place after playing it safe for over a decade,” Hendricks captioned an Instagram post.

Christina Hendricks’ Dining Room Makeover Is So Good

The room makeover is a combination of colorful design styles. There’s whimsical, floral wallpaper, Art Deco rugs, and glamorous mirrors and chandeliers. Hendricks achieved a gorgeous, eclectic mix of color, textures, and patterns in the room. Here’s how the makeover unfolded.

Hendricks explained that the first project she tackled was extending the lavender wall color up to her crown molding to color-drench the space. Next, she switched out the curtains and added House of Hackney wallpaper to the panels of her bar.

“Then I collected vintage French fabrics from Etsy and had the pillows covered in different prints,” Hendricks continued. “Now it’s even more whimsical and romantic!!! More is more!!!”

One of the standout pieces in Hendricks’ dining room is the settee that flanks one side of her dining table. It was already stellar before the room makeover, but it now just feels so at home among the lush curtains and patterned throw pillows. It makes you want to cozy up to the table and get comfortable for an evening of good food, drinks, and conversation.

Choosing a settee rather than standard dining chairs or even a bench makes this room feel much more inviting. Although not quite as large as Hendricks’ settee, this one from Rifle Paper Co. and Cloth & Company achieves an eclectic feel thanks to its intricate botanical and pomegranate upholstery.

Hendricks knows what she’s doing when it comes to layering colors, textures, and patterns, and her finished dining room is the proof. As she said, “more is more” when going down the eclectic route, so take some risks and create a space that feels as unique as you are.
