Martha Stewart designed the only patio chair you need in 2025

In her recent years as a furniture designer, Martha Stewart has given us hundreds of beautiful yet durable products to upgrade our interiors and gardens – the latter of which is at the forefront of our minds this springtime.

Part of my job involves familiarizing myself with the best pieces from Martha Stewart’s collections, and this was precisely what I did this afternoon – browsing everything from her pieces on Wayfair to her Amazon storefront. After hours of scrolling, I found the one piece you need to know about this spring/summer, and it happens to be hidden deep on Wayfair.

Martha Stewart’s Bedford All-Weather Patio Armchair (available at Wayfair) epitomizes everything you know and love about the collection. Inspired by her iconic Bedford home, the jewel of Martha Stewart’s property portfolio, it’s simple yet oh-so sophisticated, and designed to withstand all weather conditions.

Opting for classic wooden materials and neutral hues is often one of the best choices when shopping for outdoor furniture, and this piece embodies this ideology perfectly.

The only thing better than this chair is a pair of them, and, even better yet, this duo is currently on sale.

Martha’s wooden chairs transcend garden trends, tapping into aesthetics that have already endured through the years, including the ever-popular quiet luxury look.

‘Garden furniture made from rattan or wood lends itself quite nicely to the quiet luxury aesthetic because of its neutral colour palette and organic textures,’ comments Sue Jones, the creative director and co-founder at OKA.

‘If you’re upgrading your patio area for the season ahead, I’d recommend choosing a few key pieces that add a statement design element – think a sculptural table as the centrepiece, or chairs with a stylish, statement weave.’

Another great thing about these chairs is how their versatile colorway serves as the perfect base for accessories. As Sue explains, you can pair them alongside most vibrant patterned pieces, including rugs and cushions. I’ve listed some of my favorites for summer 2025 below.

‘When creating a spot to enjoy the warmer months, I like to bring all the colour, comfort, and character that I enjoy indoors, outdoors. So, I always like to add soft furnishings like showerproof cushions, outdoor rugs, and patterned tableware to put a unique stamp on the space,’ she says.

‘These make for a really inviting look and give extra comfort that’s essential for long afternoons in the sun. For a tranquil feel, I’d choose calming blue tones that pair nicely with surrounding greenery, while zingy orange evokes charm and personality.’
