Kourtney Kardashian’s Dining Room Uses an Unusual Color Palette

Blue and brown are both among the trendiest colors for 2026, but they are rarely seen together. Luckily, Kourtney Kardashian isn’t afraid to stand out. The Poosh founder’s dining room is bathed in an ultra-stylish mix of blue accessories with brown furniture.

After buying her Calabassas home in 2015, Kourt enlisted interior designer to the stars, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, to outfit it. The bones are modern Mediterranean, but the interiors they came up with read more mid-century-meets-modern-art.

Though blue and brown seem an unlikely combination, it’s slated to be a major trend for 2026. Popular in the 1970s, the pairing taps into the turn towards nostalgia that dominates this year’s trend cycle. Interior designers are embracing the look wholeheartedly.

Zara Bollingbroke-Kent, Founder of Bombay Sprout, tells Homes & Gardens: ‘I’ve always loved the balance between warmth and coolness that brown and blue bring together. Brown tones have such richness and depth, and when you pair them with blue – whether it’s a soft lapis or rich indigo – it instantly feels modern and harmonious.’

Part of what makes Kourtney’s on-trend color palette so alluring is its supreme versatility.

Zara explains: ‘It’s a timeless palette that works across so many spaces, from relaxed coastal rooms to elegant sitting rooms layered with pattern and texture.’

As in Kourtney Kardashian’s dining room, the blue and brown trend represents a future where we look to the past for our best decor ideas. It’s retro, cozy, and welcoming. No matter the style of your home, there’s a place for this alluring combination.
