Gansevoort Hotel’s Poliform Penthouse Brings Italian Elegance To New York City
Design lovers looking for an art-forward escape in New York City should look no further than the Poliform Penthouse, located inside the Meatpacking District’s chic Gansevoort Hotel.
The collaboration was a part of the hotel’s extensive four-year, $40 million renovation. Founder and President of Gansevoort Hotel Group, Michael Achenbaum has long admired the warm, modern aesthetic of the Poliform brand and incorporated several pieces into his own home’s design. Thus, it became a natural partnership between the two brands.
Set over a sprawling 1,700 square-feet, the elegant penthouse is a two-story paradise in the city that has all the features of an ultra-luxury residence. Ideal for both short and long-term stays, entry on the first floor leads to a spacious living area, kitchenette and dining area, along with a large bathroom complete with a rainfall shower.
Mesmerizing 30-foot floor-to-ceiling windows adds a light and airy feel to the space, with eye-catching views of the Hudson River, and beyond. The focal point of the downstairs living area is a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, flanked by dramatic bookcases on either slide; the Mondrian sofa and a striking coffee table made of rare Saharan black marble are standout pieces that offer comfort and sophistication.
The second floor features a master bedroom with a work area and living space, extensive custom closets and two bathrooms, including a master bathroom with steam shower and deep soaking tub. Each space is designed exclusively with Poliform furniture throughout. On the mezzanine, guests also have access to the state-of-the-art lululemon Studio Mirror, with over 10,000 online fitness classes led by world-class trainers. Not just exclusive to the penthouse, each guest room in the hotel offers the Studio Mirror.
Original works from renowned artists Frank Stella, Adi Oren, Daniel Mazzone and Mick Rock line the walls of the penthouse, rivalling some of the art displays seen in renowned galleries across New York City. When choosing many of the furniture and accessories in the spaces, Poliform tapped into their designer network to bring shoppable pieces that allow guests to bring a slice of the suite home with them.
As the hotel celebrates its 20th year, the Poliform Penthouse is a great example of Gansevoort Hotel’s modern, innovative and elevated approach to the hospitality industry. In January 2024, the hotel unveiled its private member’s club concept, Seven24 Collective, designed to be a gathering place for professionals, creatives and visionaries to connect, entertain and relax.
